Tritec was appointed in June 2020 to carry out targeted gutter refurbishment works at Selhurst Park Football Stadium, focusing on extending the service life of existing guttering above the Holmesdale Road Stand and resolving ongoing leakage issues.
Gutter Inspection & Preparation
Initial inspection identified standing water, significant debris and silt build-up, and surface corrosion to the gutter soles and upstands, particularly around joint locations. Following the submission of detailed risk assessments and method statements, Tritec was awarded the works.
All gutter channels were fully cleared of debris and vegetation, with waste removed from the roof level and disposed of safely on site. Remaining standing water was removed, and the gutters were swept through to expose the substrate. Areas of surface corrosion were mechanically prepared to remove oxidation and provide a sound base for coating application.
Joint Sealing & Coating Application
Gutter joints were sealed and primed to prevent future leakage before the entire gutter system was primed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Once cured, the Giromax Girosil® RC-G coating system was applied to the gutter soles and upstands using roller application, fully encapsulating the gutters to create a seamless, waterproof lining.
