Work Overview

Full Project Breakdown

This project involved the commercial roof refurbishment of a Royal Mail facility in Carlisle. Acting as principal contractor, Tritec Building Contractors delivered a full roof coating solution to address significant weathering and deterioration of the existing metal roof. The works were carried out over approximately 2,604m², focusing on extending the building’s lifespan while ensuring minimal disruption to operations, demonstrating our capability to deliver efficient, cost-effective refurbishment solutions for commercial assets.

Roof Refurbishment

The roof refurbishment works began with high-pressure jet washing to remove all dirt, grease, and failed coatings, ensuring a clean surface for treatment. Existing corroded fixings and caps were removed and replaced, with all remaining fixings tightened and sealed. Cut edge corrosion across the roof sheets and flashing was treated and primed to prevent further degradation, alongside sealing all vulnerable areas. Following full preparation, a Giromax Girosil RC Ultra liquid coating system was applied across the entire roof, including flashings and parapets. This BBA-approved system encapsulates the roof surface, providing long-term protection and extending the roof’s service life by up to 20 years.
