Full Project Breakdown
Tritec was appointed as the subcontractor for an 8,000 m² roof refurbishment at the Waitrose Distribution Centre in Aylesford, completed between September and November 2025. The project focused on extending the life of the warehouse roof, improving weatherproofing, and enhancing durability.
Roof Preparation & Corrosion Repair
All roof surfaces were cleaned and inspected, removing dirt, moss, algae, loose coatings, old sealants, and debris. PVDF areas were primed, rooflights and sheets were solvent-wiped and keyed, and damaged or corroded fixings were repaired or replaced. Corroded fixing heads were stabilised with Drisilane® Prime. Cut-edge corrosion repairs were completed to all roof sheets and flashings, creating a consistent and durable base.
Roof Coating Application
Once preparation was complete, a uniform coat of Drisilane® Prime was applied, extending onto surrounding areas. Sheet and flashing end-laps were sealed with Drisilane® RS and Flex, forming a continuous protective band. The final DriSilane® Elite coat was applied across the roof at a minimum wet film thickness of 300 μm, ensuring long-term durability, weather resistance, and enhanced lifespan for the warehouse roof system.
Project Outcome
The refurbishment delivered a robust, watertight roof with long-lasting protection. Tritec’s thorough preparation and application of the DriSilane® ReCote system provided Waitrose with a durable, low-maintenance solution, extending the roof’s serviceable life and maintaining optimal performance for years to come.
